Sasa veitchii
This species is
considered
a shrub bamboo. It grows to a height of 5 feet at maturity. As an under
story plant, it does very well because it loves to be in a partly
shaded
area. A very difficult species to dig succussfully so the labor
involved keeps the price high on
this little bamboo.
In the spring, the new
leaves
are completely dark green. Then in the fall, they began to develop the
small white border that gives this plant a unique and striking
appearance.
Cold Hardiness is O
degrees
F.
