Great Screening Bamboo

A rare bamboo that is a great complimentary bamboo to the Golden Bamboo. This bamboo can give your screen a splash of color. The culms are yellow with a green stripe in the sulcus groove. Meaning that it has a patterned striping that alternated sides up and down the cane. It also has an occasional leaf variegation. It is a great choice for screen because it has low growing limbs. The culm nodes are compacted giving this species a great look on larger canes.

I recommend this species for USDA Climate Zones 6 and warmer.

Climate Zone 7 expect mature size canes to be over 25 feet in height.
Climate Zone 6 expect mature size canes to be over 15 feet in height.
