We got the opportunity to re-identify bamboo species for Auburn University in their Camden bamboo study that was started in the 1950's. Here are some video of that trip.
This little bamboo is medium height and very cold hardy.
Great cold hardy bamboo with beautiful yellow stripes.
Beautiful foliage and even in cold zone 5. This bamboo
can grow to over 20 feet in height at maturity.
'RED MARGIN BAMBOO'
This super cold hardy bamboo is our number one selling screening bamboo. Growing
to 35 feet tall and 3 inch diameter in climate zone 6 across the river
from Cincinnati, Ohio.
This cold hardy bamboo grows excellent in the north. It grows to a medium height in colder areas usually around 12 to 18 feet depending on the climate zone.
This beauty is rare or at least hard to find.
It grow to a medium height and very cold hardy.
A clone of Moso that has variegated foliage on maturing canes and a scary shoot.
THE GIANT 'ANDERSON' MOSO
This giant timber bamboo is the largest cold hardy
bamboo on earth. It does well in climate zone 7 where
winter temperatures do not drop into the single digits.
It can grow to 75 feet tall and be over 7 inches in diameter.
This cultivar has been in the U.S. for just a few years
and is therefore fairly scarce. After a bamboo has been in the country
for many years and gets well established, divisions from the large groves
are available. Once all this has occurred, the price will come down.
Mature size under ideal growth is 70 feet by 5 inches in diameter.
GOLDEN BAMBOO' or 'FISHPOLE BAMBOO'
Probably the most used bamboo for privacy screening in climate zones
6 and warmer. We currently have 2 and 3 gallon sizes available.
Mature size under ideal growth is 30+ feet by 2 inches in diameter.
Highly sought after and difficult to locate unless you order in
late Winter or early Spring when supplies are at their peak levels.
NIGRA 'BORY' or 'LEOPARD-SKIN BAMBOO'
Mature size under ideal growth is 50 feet by 3 inches in diameter.
We currently have 3 gallon sizes available.
Mature size under ideal growth is 40 feet by 2.5 inches in diameter.
Mature size under ideal growth is 25 feet by 2 inches in diameter.
Mature size under ideal growth is 40 feet by 3+ inches in diameter.

NIGRA HENON 'GIANT GRAY'
Giant timber bamboo growing well in climate zones 6 and warmer. Very drought tolerant
and can size up to over 65 feet in height.
Mature size under ideal growth is 27 feet by 2 inches in diameter.
Great mid sized bamboo with large culm nodes and hardy to zero degrees.
Mature size under ideal growth is 33 feet by 1.5 inches in diameter.
'NARIHIRA' or 'TEMPLE BAMBOO'
Mature size under ideal growth is 30 feet by 1.5 inches in diameter.
Hardy to -5 degrees F. and is a very straight bamboo.
VIRIDIS 'ROBERT YOUNG'
Beautiful giant bamboo growing to over 40 feet in
height with large vertical green stripes on golden canes.
A giant timber bamboo growing to over 70 feet tall by
5 inches in diameter in zone 7 and 8.
A really beautiful bamboo when mature. It will take several
years for your grove to begin showing the black stripes on
the canes, but it is worth the wait. This giant timber bamboo
can reach 54 feet by 3.5 inches in diameter under ideal conditions.
