As summer progesses the leaves turn golden still retaining the green stripes.


 

Even this Winter time photo shows this species holds  colors very well.



 

Distance photos shows large grove with plants being three feet or less in height.
Semiarundinaria okuboi is the 8 to 12 foot tall species shown to the right.
