Dense green foliage with lots of  white stripes. This is a little runner and in our experience needs a little barrier around it to keep it dense.  This is a fast spreading ground cover. From one 2 gallon  starter division our grove 12 years ago our
grove now covers 400 square feet with us taking divisions from it the whole time.

     This  ground cover is one of the most variegated bamboo  we grow. Many of its leaves are pure white. It holds its varigation through out our hot summer months. This ground cover has been very slow to spread.

     This is the smallest bamboo that I grow and is a little beauty. It has tiny fern like leaves only about 1 inch long by 1/4 inch wide.  Makes a great little ground cover or container planting. Our groves are mowed to the ground during the Fall months for a fresh growth of foliage each Spring.

     A highly desirable variegated ground cover. During the Spring, the new dark green leaves with white stripes are just beautiful. This is a very cold hardy ground cover. For the best new foliage, mow it to the ground during the Fall and mulch. Rake back the mulch during the Spring and the beautiful new foliage will explode.

     This uncommon bamboo has long, narrow, grass like leaves and is a vigorous runner. Originated in Taiwan this species will do fine in shaded woodland sites  Has very straight leaves and the oral setae are absent from the culm (cane) sheaths.

   This rare little bamboo makes an excellent low screen. It has thick foliage with long leaves measuring up to 7 inches in length by 1 inch wide. The culm sheath margins are greenish ciliate.

Great little bamboo for erosion or areas where you want green foliage that doesn't have to be mowed all summer. Mow it once in the Fall and the next year it will grow back providing a 6 inch to 2 foot height ground cover.

    Very rare species similar to the  P. pygmaeus typical form, but much larger in height reach 6 feet or taller.  Much more cold hardy and very rare. 

Less than 10 growers nation wide even have this species.  A one gallon container went for over $300 five years ago at the National ABS meeting.

     Great medium sized bamboo that has persistent culm sheaths. The sheath (covering around the new canes during the Spring)  stays on and gives the bamboo a very distinguished appearance. This species has a cluster of branches with beautiful foliage.

     This very rare bamboo grows like the typical form of simonii, but has a very unusual leaf coloration. Some of the leaves are variegated with a white stripe and some are solid green. This characteristic can often be seen on the same branch with some variegated and some not. This species is not wide spread and is sought by many bamboo enthusiast.

Rake back the mulch during the Spring for new  lush foliage. The small culms (canes) are green to purple with soft to touch leaves. This species is growing very well in zone 5 Chicago, Illinois.

FREE SHIPPING on  2 and 3 gallon size plants.  Each species is different, therefore, the height of a shrub, ground cover or timber bamboo species will all be very different. All bamboo are field dug divisions. Each is held for at least a month to ensure that the bamboo is stabilized and ready for transplant. If we have your bamboo in stock, it will go out our next available shipping date. If not in stock, we can dig your order and hold it until it is stable to ship. The height and diameter will vary according to the species you select. You can e-mail for further information on your plant selections.
