Our
recent visitors were Debbie and Tommy from Rome, Georgia. Along
with
their beautiful daughter, Amber, they drove over after setting up an
appointment.
Shown here along side over one hundred of our 30 gallon container sizes. These specimens are just a few of the large size containers we stock for customers. After experiencing one to two years of pampered watering and fertilizing in these containers, the bamboo root growth eliminates several years of growing time for our customers. |
Tommy, Debbie and Amber selected the beautiful 'Decora' for their timber bamboo. This past Spring our new canes of Decora that emerged grew to 44 feet in just 50 days in one of our 8 year old groves. For a shorter privacy screening they chose P. aurea 'Golden' bamboo which at maturity in their area will grow well over 25 feet. They ended up with 17 well established containers. Den loaded and wrapped them with plastic to prevent wind burn. After a little more conversation and a cold soft drink they headed back home. Thanks again Tommy and we hope the trip home was a safe one. |
We hope your family can visit our groves soon and begin growing this beautiful plant to help our environment and your home garden. Just contact Rachel Lewis to set up your appointment. |

Behind them are some of the ball & burlap divisions we packed into their van. |

15 gallon B&B of Gray Henon |
This order of 15 gallon size P. nigra Henon 'Giant Gray' was delivered to Decatur, Georgia to Ned. |
To the right is a photo showing over 100 of the 15 gallon sizes of Gray Henon we had going into Spring 2007. With Jeff's second Orlando order, most of this inventory has been sold. Jeff is starting his own bamboo company and we were happy to out bid everyone to get their business. We have a few left and can always custom dig large divisions like the divisions shown below that went to Houston this month. |
Thanks again to Ned in Georgia for his order. We hope you enjoy the new bamboo for years to come. |
Chris ordered these custom dug 20 feet tall specimens of 'Giant Gray'. This is a new landscaping firm we contracted with in Conroe, Texas. |
With plenty of good help on hand the unloading process went great. |
We thoroughly enjoyed the delivery and brief visit to this new landscaping firm. Thanks again for the business Chris and we look forward to your next order. We hope if you are located in the Houston and surrounding areas please consider this fine company for your landscaping needs. ELI Land Design 936-524-1797 936-788-2877 |

Joe, his lovely wife Betty and daughter Tracy drove up from Mobile, Alabama. Joe had mail ordered 14 of the 3 gallon P. aurea 'Golden' from us February of 2006. He said that the 'Golden' was doing great and he wanted to get some 'Moso'. |
Joe said that he could have mail ordered again but he just wanted to see our Nursery and take a tour of all the different species that we have. He got some 5 gallon 'Moso' that was too tall for us to ship. They also picked out some Sasaella Masamuneana 'Albostriata'. It was a pleasure meeting all of them and we really appreciate his repeat business. Hope you have a safe trip back home and 'Thanks again'. |

This morning we loaded our trailer for a delivery to Carol in Nashville, Tennessee. She wanted a privacy screen for her new backyard. |
Carol had really prepared for her new plantings. She had a trench dug and barrier installed. Her home is on the left of this picture. We are getting ready to unload the bamboo from the trailer into the backyard. |
You can see the beautifully prepared trench at the back of the root balls. She ordered Field Specimens and then some smaller 5 gallon to taper the planting from high to low on each end. This was to have the look she wanted right now until the bamboo fills in. |

Look who's back......Edwin from Fulton, Mississippi returned today to pick up a couple F/S of P. vivax 'Aureocaulis' that we had dug and stabilized for him. Edwin was here 3 years ago, then two times in April and once in May of this year. The bamboo bug has bitten! |
Today we got to meet his daughter, Tracy. She was so enthused with bamboo. It was a pleasure just to answer all her questions and see the smile on her face as she chose each plant. She really knew what she wanted and how she wanted the bamboo to look. |
Edwin's wife Sandra is in a 'Moso' grove. They already have 'Moso' growing and can't wait until they have some very hugh canes. Sandra picked out some Pleioblastus pygmaeus, Pleioblastus pygmaeus 'Ramosisimus' and P. chino 'Vaginatus Variegatus' to grow in her garden. |

This week we are preparing to delivery a trailer load of large bamboo
to Nashville,
Tn. Next week we are off to Atlanta, Ga on Monday. Tuesday we leave for
Houston,
Tx. once again this year. Texas has kept us busy this year and we
always
enjoy visiting that lovely state. We hate they are being pounded so bad
by
all the rain fall.
Our county has been in a severe drought for the past 5 weeks, but there is rain predicted for us this week. Thanks to everyone that has purchased from us and just let us know if we can be of help with any bamboo. |
Today was our delivery to Jeff in Orlando, Florida. Jeff owns one of the largest online pet supply stores in North America. He is very excited about bamboo and is planting quite a lot. On this first order we delivered 112 large divisions. His selections included P. aurea Golden, P. rubromarginata, P. nigra 'Henon' , Semiarundinaria Okuboi, and two large 30 gallon containers of P. bambusoides 'Allgold'. |
The landscape was beautiful for plantings of bamboo. Jeff has very sandy soil that he will amend with composted manure. |
In the background you can see some of the tropical clumping bamboos that he has already planted. |
The P. aurea 'Golden' are pictured to the right with all their inspection tags. They were perfect size for handling and getting a nice grove large grove established. |
| Today some friends of friends paid us a visit to purchase plants for a privacy screen. Terrel and his nephew Will decided that Phyllostachy Nigra Henon 'Giant Gray' would provide the height needed for privacy. We appreciate their visit and hope they had a good time and was able to learn a lot about bamboo. | |
