This
little bamboo from Japan really adds the tropical feel to any garden.
Its
leaves are arranged in a palm shaped fashion. With its leaves
measuring
up to 15 inches long by 2.5 inches wide, it is a great addition to any
garden. Handles all planting sites with wind and drought conditions not
being a problem. Young shoots can be eaten and the foliage is highly
used
in decorations. I have two reports back now from 4 year plantings in
zone
5 that is one has remained evergreen to -10 to -15 degrees.
At
this
time I still would recommend this species for USDA Climate Zones 6 and
warmer.
