| This customer had purchased tropical
bamboo from another nursery and was unhappy with the appearance. Tropical or clumping bamboos
are usually tight at the bottom and weep out at the top, just
simply not a great fit for this area. We were able to provide the look they wanted with running bamboo. Control of this bamboo was an issue, but again, barrier was installed to control the bamboo and accelerate the screening process. Once the 60 clumping bamboo were removed and the soil excavated, Denny and I installed the barrier. |

Here is one side prior to the installation
and then after the bamboo and barrier had been installed. With the barrier installed, the bamboo will only grow in the specified area. This makes a screen faster because all the growth is confined to the desired screening area. |

The picture to the left was the clumping bamboo that was removed. Like we said before, it tends to grow tight at the bottom and expand at the top. The new growth occurs on the perimeter of the plant causing a fluming effect, leaving dead and older canes in the middle. Due to space constraints, this was an unwise choice for this application. It was removed and replaced with Phyllostachys Nigra Henon. A beautiful running bamboo that can be easily controlled with barrier. |
| You can see the lip of the barrier exposed at the soil level. This assists with rhizome control and allows the plants to retain mulch. |

Here, we are watering the bamboo after the job was completed. The bamboo is installed and worry free. This will provide a excellent privacy screen and will add another element of beauty to this amazing home. |
Barrier Installation using the trenching method.
| Here is another barrier installation we perform in Memphis, TN. This is installed using a trenching method. First a 6 inch wide trench is dug around the area. Barrier is placed into position and secured. It it important that the barrier taper out from bottom to top. Just like a pot. |

| The dirt is now replaced back into the trench. Holes are dug to plant the bamboo inside of the barrier. |

| The bamboo is then planted and mulched. This gives you a nice finished product. |
